The Golden Age of China

The exhibition The Golden Age of China tells the story of the Tang Dynasty. This period is often described as China’s golden age. Through the Silk Road, a thriving business grows and the capital Chang’an becomes a metropolis of almost 1 million inhabitants. The exhibition immerses the visitor in the colorful streets of the capital and in the lives of its inhabitants: servants of the empress, concubines, artists, merchants, monks …
Each visitor receives an audio guide. The narrators are Wu Zetian, the only female head of the empire in the history of China, and Wei, a silk merchant.
The audioguide is automatically activated, and immerses the visitor in the atmosphere of the city.
For children, the visit of the exhibition was conceived through the eyes of a young boy and his camel. The child visitor is invited to follow the two characters in their playful exploration of the city: the camel Charlot dream to serve the Empress, he is very jealous of horses and falls in love with a woman…
