St. John's Cathedral multimedia tour

The Cathedral church of Saint John is the pride of s’-Hertogenbosch.
After completing its restoration, the church council commissioned us to develop a multimedia tour. Given the quality and the quantity of footage available, this promises to be a wonderful project.
We already know who will be the voice of the tour, but we are keeping it a secret.
Tours are available on smartphones, but it is also possible to hire an iPod touch in the museum of the cathedral.

Marie the fishwife

The Fishmongers’ Guild commissioned Elburcht to paint ‘The Miraculous draft of fishes’ for Antwerp Cathedral. This altarpiece will be on show there until 2017. Marie, the wife of fishmonger Michiel, recalls how the altarpiece was commissioned. She tells the story, not without some reluctance.

New projects for spring 2011

Spring is just around the corner and we can’t wait! Herewith a few of the new projects we will be working on:

Hortus botanicus Leiden

We are extremely proud of our first project in the Netherlands. The Hortus botanicus in Leiden asked Ravi to develop a multimedia walk for the garden. We will deliver a total project, i.e. we will write the texts, translate them into English, record and mix them in the studio and produce the complete multimedia application. Moreover, we will supply 20 iPod Touches in an elegant charging dock. The tour will of course also be available from Apple’s App Store and later in the year from the Android Store as well. The application will also comprise a very interesting new option, but more about that in a subsequent article.

Toy Museum Mechelen

As from the Easter holidays, the figures Senne and Sanne will take visitors on a multimedia tour of the Toy Museum in Dutch, French and English. Ravi will be responsible for writing and translating the texts and developing the complete application. Visitors will be able to hire an iPod Touch on entering the museum. The tour will of course also be available from Apple’s App Store and later on from the Android Store too.

Chicory Museum Kampenhout

We don’t regard multimedia as the be-all and end-all, but we have always believed that a trail does need a good story, possibly with images and multimedia in a support role. For the Chicory Museum in Kampenhout we’ll be writing a good audio story about the history of chicory cultivation in Central Brabant. Ravi will be responsible for translating and recording the texts.

Well-behaved women, Lee Miller

On April 15th 1929 a beautiful blond walked into the studio of the photographer Man Ray. I am your new pupil, she said without hesitation. The famous photographer did not normally take on pupils, but he was so surprised that he didn’t argue.
The blond beauty was Lee Miller, a top model with American Vogue, who left New York at the height of her career to train as a photographer in Paris. As Man Ray’s assistant and mistress, she soon became the muse of the surrealists. The painter Pablo Picasso, the poet Paul Eluard and the film-maker Jean Cocteau all fell for her charms and she for theirs. In 1930 she looked self-confidently into Man Ray’s lens, her restless expression betraying what was to come.
